Mark Brown, M.D.
Mark Brown, M.D. is a member of ASOPRS (American Society of
Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons), and specializes in
"Eye plastics" or "Oculoplastics"; this is a subspecialty of
Ophthalmology and requires extensive training. Fellowship in ASOPRS
indicates that Dr. Brown has special training and expertise in this
subspecialty and that he is board certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology. In fact, Dr. Brown is the only Oculoplastic
subspecialist on the MS Gulf Coast.
Dr. Brown received his Oculoplastic training in Chicago, IL at the
University of Illinois. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology
at New York University Medical Center. His medical school education
was completed at the prestigious Tufts University School of
Medicine, and Dr. Brown received his undergraduate degree at Harvard
College.
Dr. Brown is presently on the faculty of two medical schools and has
published numerous scientific papers and chapters in his
subspecialty. Dr. Brown is well qualified to perform cosmetic
surgery involving the eyelids, eyebrows, the cheeks and the lacrimal
(tear) system. He also treats a wide range of eye-related
complications from previous surgeries or trauma. In addition, Dr.
Brown performs surgeries to help treat eyelid skin cancers, orbital
tumors and orbital fractures.
Dr. Brown resides in Mobile, AL with his wife and 2 children. He
sees patients at the Cedar Lake office of Eye Associates of the
South.
