Dr. Rainna Bahadur
is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist
who
specializes in Cornea & External Disease and
Refractive Surgery. |
Dr. Rainna Bahadur is a Board Certified
Ophthalmologist who has completed a
fellowship in Cornea/External
Disease/Refractive Surgery. She received her
fellowship training at the prestigious Dean
McGee Eye Institute at the University of
Oklahoma. Dr. Bahadur attended medical
school and completed an ophthalmology
residency in Jackson, MS at the University
of MS Medical Center, where she served as
Chief Resident. Dr. Bahadur, who was born
and raised in Greenwood, MS, is also a Magna
Cum Laude graduate of Millsaps College in
Jackson, MS.
As a corneal specialist, Dr. Bahadur has
broad experience in diagnoses, treatment,
and surgical expertise in corneal disease (ex.Anterior
segment reconstruction, corneal transplants,
dry eye disease, and amniotic membrane use).
In addition, she has a great deal of
experience and expertise in the field of
refractive surgery for the correction of
myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia
(far-sightedness), and astigmatism. She
performs various refractive surgeries (ex.
LASIK, LASEK, astigmatic keratectomy) based
on the needs of each individual patient. Of
great interest to Dr. Bahadur and her staff
is the diagnosis and treatment of dry eye
disease, also known as dysfunctional tear
syndrome. This clinic has been named the
“Dry Eye Treatment Center for the MS Gulf
Coast” and has helped countless numbers of
patients with various ocular problems
arising from having dry eye syndrome.
In addition to her fellowship specialities,
Dr. Bahadur performs the latest techniques
in cataract surgery (ex. clear corneal
incisions, Restrore multifocal intraocular
lenses). She is also interested in minimally
invasive cosmetic procedures, including
cosmetic Botox to reduce the appearance of
wrinkles and Lattise for fuller, darker
eyelashes.
Dr, Bahadur has been an invited guest
speaker for her colleagues at various
meetings and a national guest vision expert
for Ivanhoe Broadcast ( a source of breaking
medical news: www.ivanhoe.com). Dr. Bahadur
is a member of various medical societies
that include the American Academy of
Ophthalmology, the European Society of
Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the
American Society of Refractive Surgery, and
International Ocular Surface Society, and
International Society of Refractive Surgery.
She has also received numerous
certifications pertaining to refractive
surgery, including the VISX Excimer Laser
System and the LADARVision Excimer Laser
Certification.
Dr. Bahadur is very active in various
community and charitable organizations,
including the Lion’s Club of Biloxi, Eye
Care of America (providing free eye care for
those in need), and the Junior Auxillary of
Gulfport. She was recently recognized as a
2010 Caring Woman honoree. Dr. Bahadur
resides in Gulfport with her husband, son
and daughter. |
